Sweetheart, I Ain’t Your Christ – Josh T. Pearson

A nice version of “Sweetheart, I Ain’t Your Christ” on the interwebs:

The song is on his new album (14 March 2011):

Last of the Country Gentlemen, by Josh T. Pearson

  1. I saw him twice over here supporting the Drive-By Truckers. The only thing more tedious than his songs was the line at the bar that formed after the fist song of his set.

But you know there’s a consultant in suite 9A of the Capitol Records building who will help us all re-invent ourselves as outsider cosmic American musicians according to the tastes and standards of European state broadcasters. I have dreamed this and it is so.

  2. Go on – the song on the video was good. I even considered listening to another one of his songs. It’s just that you were all geared up for that rollocking Lynard Skynard retro band, and he’s a bad choice for support act. But just imagine the excitement if he was supporting the mountain goats.
