In October 2003, Brian Tamaki, self-styled “Bishop” of Destiny Church, made the false prophecy that Destiny’s political party would be leading the nation of New Zealand in five years’ time (i.e. by October 2008).
Brian Tamaki was then joined on stage by Eddie Long, self-styled “Bishop” of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, who confirmed the prophecy.
And it’s all because of Him that we are who we are and that we know who we are. As Bishop [Eddie Long] preached so well and taught us last night that it’s important to know who we are, and we know who we are! We know what we have got to do. I predict in the next five years, by the time we hit our tenth anniversary [Destiny Church was launched July 4th 1998] – and I don’t say this lightly, but – we will be ruling the nation. And the Government shall be upon his shoulders, and then peace can come to this nation. But just let me tell you this quickly as you have a seat, and I’ll explain a little bit more tonight, but I feel very strongly, in my heart, that the word of the Lord came to me very strong, and stronger over this weekend, that this will actually be the first nation historically, in the world, to be under the governance of God. I mean true, true governance. True Kingdom authority expressed through the People of God and through our political orders.
– Brian Tamaki, October 2003
He made a declaration that in five years you shall be ruling and reigning in this nation. That means you control the wealth, that means you control the riches, that means you control the politics, that means you control the social order, that means that you are in charge.
– Eddie Long, October 2003
The Bible is clear: Brian Tamaki and Eddie Long must die:
Any prophet who speaks in the name of other gods, or who presumes to speak in my name a word that I have not commanded the prophet to speak–that prophet shall die. You may say to yourself, “How can we recognize a word that Yahweh has not spoken?” If a prophet speaks in the name of Yahweh but the thing does not take place or prove true, it is a word that Yahweh has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; do not be frightened by it. – Deuteronomy 18.20-22
