6pm, May 21, 2011 has come and gone, and no sign of Jesus. One of the local television stations broadcast a great story in the 6pm bulletin, on what’s progressing in the apocalypse as we speak:
I like the opening to the story: “It’s particularly nice to be with you tonight, because the world was supposed to come to an end – ten minutes ago…”
And What That Says About Us as a Nation? A public? A television audience? We are an idiot. The apocalypse will be televised.

Ok, now what? Dec 2012 as per the Mayan calendar? Perhaps it will be a comet that could eradicate all of us? I guess we’ve got to get ready soon or simply look for Superman to save the world.
I survived the year 2000 apocalypse and the millenium bug, survived through 2003 without being destroyed by the rogue and very ficticious planet “Nibiru” survived the May 21st 2011 rapture and I’m looking forward to surviving the end of all time when the Mayan calandar runs out next year, and I’ll survive the near-miss by the NEO Apophis in 2029 and it’s return in 2036.
I’m always looking forward to the next time the end is neigh, but the results are always somewhat anti-climatic.
Maybe Jesus just forgot about this last one? After all the bible did guarantee it and the bible can never be wrong, so it must have happened, even if we didn’t notice. If so… is this Heaven or Hell that I’m in right now?
